The FOOD-TRAK Task Scheduler manages the process of running reports as well as other functions, such as the Perpetual Inventory Engine. The scheduler determines when, and how often you wish to print or process a report, transaction, or check your system data. Typically, reports are printed immediately and are not repeated.
The Task Scheduler can also delay report printing or database processing for a later date or time.
The Task Execution fields let you set the time and date on which you wish the report to be generated. Use the drop-down lists to set the month, day, year and time you wish to run the report. You can move from one field to another using your keyboard by pressing the TAB key.
The Task Frequency fields allow you to select either a one-time execution or a repeated execution on a regular schedule. The repeated approach provides further options for repeating the report every so many hours, days, weeks, or months. These options come in very handy for routinely printed reports.
To change from the default Execute only once to have the report re-run at regular intervals, click the appropriate option under Repeat Every. You have the choice of running the report every so many hours, days, weeks, or months.
After setting the option, press TAB to move into the number field next to that option.
Set the desired number of hours, days, weeks, or months to run the report, then click Submit.
For example, if you wish to run the same report once every 6 months, click the option button next to months, press TAB to move into the number field and type 6. Click Submit. The report will then be scheduled to run once every 6 months.
See the Task Queue Manager for details on viewing the status of scheduled tasks.
