Just as the name implies, the Task Queue Manager allows you to manage all tasks, which are or were waiting (in queue) to occur. It gives you the ability to oversee the status of all scheduled jobs, in addition to letting you delete, or view the results of a scheduled report.
The FOOD-TRAK Administrator has access to see all tasks for all sites. A user with restricted site permissions can view and access tasks for the site(s) they have access to.
The Tasks list can be filtered by Site by using the drop-down field found at the top of the screen. A filter is available to search for particular tasks or to create a more focused list of tasks. Tasks can be filtered by date range, user or description. To access the filter click on the Filter button.
To open this function, click the notepad icon
located at the top right of the Main Menu.
Description
The Task Queue Manager page opens. On it, you will see a list of reports run or set to execute in FOOD-TRAK, the request date and time, site, requested by, date and time they were requested to run, and the status.
Description lists the name of the report that has been generated, is being generated, or scheduled to be generated later.
Request Date signifies when the report was scheduled (although it may not have been run as yet).
Site displays the name of the site the report was scheduled for.
Requested By shows the name of the user that requested the task.
Due Date lists the date and time the report was scheduled to run.
Status if the report has been Scheduled to be generated on the Due Date, Executing, i.e. presently being run, or Done, signifying that the report, having been run at some point in the past, is finished and ready to view.
*Note regarding Date/Time stamps on the Task Queue Manager screen: If there is a Time Zone configured in Site Administration > Settings tab, this time zone will be the date/time stamped on the scheduled and executed tasks.
Viewing a Finished Report
When the report is generated, the task description will be displayed with underlined blue characters. Clicking on the link displays the report on the screen. If the characters are still black, the report has not yet been generated. If you are waiting for a report to finish, you can periodically press F5 to refresh the screen as the browser will update the screen about every 10 seconds.
If you choose not to run a scheduled report or delete a finished one, you will be able to delete it by placing a check mark in the box left of the task description and pressing the Delete Marked Tasks button. The report will disappear from the Task list.
When you are finished with the Task Queue Manager, you can return to the Main Menu page by clicking Main at the left of the page. You can also exit FOOD-TRAK by clicking Logout.
