The purpose of the Wine Module is to provide specialized recording and reporting capabilities to FOOD-TRAK users who stock and sell bottled wine. The Wine Module (WM) is licensed as a separate module and allocated to sites in the same manner other modules are allocated.
If the Wine Module is allocated to a site, a Wine folder with a set of five attribute editors will appear on the database menu. Attributes are defined as categories associated with wine, and are used for grouping reports in meaningful ways. There is an attribute editor for the Brand, Type, Varietal, Vineyard and Geographical Area. The attribute editors allow the entry of different ways to categorize and group the wine items in your database.
In addition to the ability to define attributes using the attribute editors, the Item Editor will have a ”Wine” option in the Options section on the General tab. Placing a check mark in the Wine option will cause the ”Wine” tab to appear and become enabled allowing the selection of several different attributes for each wine item. Unless the ”Wine” box is checked in the item editor, the system will not include the item in wine reports, nor will it allow entry of attributes for that item.
The Wine Module will allow users to create and assign the following attributes to a wine item:
Brand
Country
Origin
Region
Sub-region
Vineyard
Varietal (primary grape)
Vintage
Type
Notes
Further, three new reports are included. The reports are the Wine Inventory Extension, Wine Purchase Recap and the Wine Perpetual Inventory report. These reports will have additional sort options available that will include the wine attributes. The new wine reports offer the flexibility that is needed to view wine item information in a variety of different ways.
