Data Entry Forms - Creating and Editing Templates

Templates are essentially patterns, models or blueprints for producing reusable forms based on existing ones.

All FOOD-TRAK Data Entry forms allow for the creation of a template. Templates allow you to have a shelf order inventory form that you can use each time you take inventory. If you order the same items weekly or monthly from the same vendor, you can create a template of that Shopping List or PO and make minor adjustments as necessary. Templates make data entry more convenient in that you don't have to create a brand new form each time.

To create a template from any form, simply click the Template icon found on the Data Entry toolbar.  A small window appears asking you to name the template.  Give it any name you wish, but one that you will easily recognize in the future.  The list of items will be written to the template and you will then be able to load it from the Selection window when the particular type of form is selected.

To edit a template, open the template you wish to update. Add or remove items from the form. Once you are satified with the result, click the Save Template button and save over the old version (don't rename unless you truly need two versions - this could cause confusion with other users in the system)
