Items can be added to forms using the Insert feature. The Insert box is available on the left side of the form detail. If closed, the Insert box can be accessed by pressing the Insert button found on the Edit window that displays the item's properties. If you have loaded a (Blank, no items) form, then the Insert feature is open and the focus is on the search field ready for you to enter the criteria for your first search.
The Insert feature allows you to look up any existing item in your FOOD-TRAK database and enter it onto your transaction form.
You may search through your database by Item Name, Abbreviation, Reference, Barcode or Report Group (and Item Code if on a procurement form) by clicking into the appropriate field and entering the search criteria of the item you wish to add to the form. Wildcard characters may be used to help make your search more powerful.
1. Select the type of search you want to conduct at the top of the window.
2. Enter the search criteria in the appropriate field.
3. Click on the Search button or press ENTER. The window scrolls to those items in your database that match the search criteria you entered.
4. To add the item to your form, enter a quantity in the Edit window and press Update or Enter.
The item will be added to your form, beneath the item on the form you selected. In the case of the inventory form the item will be inserted in the location you selected.
