Sometimes the structure of an organization changes, or perhaps for economical reasons it comes time to consolidate 2 or more Profit Centers into one. The Profit Center Reassignment utility removes the existing data in one Profit Center and adds it to another.
NOTE: We highly recommend that you make a backup of your Site before performing a reassignment. The process is not reversible; therefore, if errors occur, or if the process does not have the desired results, it can be easily undone by restoring the backup image to the Site.
To Reassign a Profit Center:
1. From the FOOD-TRAK® Control Console, click Administration, and on the General tab double-click Profit Center Reassignment. The Reassignment utility is activated.
2. From the drop-down list, select as the Source Profit Center you wish to reassign. From the second drop-down list, select the Destination Profit Center to which the data from the Source Profit Center will be transferred. Click Next.
3. On the tree diagram, carefully check the additions to the Destination Profit Center that will occur once the process has begun. Included are Inventory Groups, Profit Center Groups, exiting Inventories, and G/L Accounts. Note that any duplicate G/L Accounts in the Destination Profit Center will be removed.
4. If you do not wish to perform this operation, click Cancel; otherwise, click Finish to merge the 2 Profit Centers. You will receive a message when the process has completed.
