User Sessions

After you are authenticated as a valid user a login session is created. Any attempt to login using the same user credentials while your session is open will result is a login failure. This makes it important to set up each user with a unique user name and password.

It is also important to enable cookies on your workstation as this ensures that if your browser is unexpectedly closed you will be able to login to the session within a pre-set period of time.

Secure Login

As an added layer of security for your login credentials, a license may be obtained for your FOOD-TRAK system to enable SSL on the login page.  Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol may be enabled for the login page.  If you have a digital certificate issued by a Certificate Authority such as VeriSign, Thawte or GlobalSign you may install that on your FOOD-TRAK® web server.  This will encrypt authentication information (user name and password) network traffic on your internal network as well as across the internet.

See User Manager help for details on granting users permission to access Sites.

Logout

A login session is closed by clicking the Logout option from the My Account feature located at the top right corner of the Main Menu. The function is represented by an icon that contains your profile image. It is important when you are done with your work in the FOOD-TRAK Application that you logout using these steps. Closing the browser window leaves your login session open for a pre-set amount of time.
